Licensing questions
One licence covers one computer at a time. If you replace your machine or want to move it to a different PC, deactivate it on the old one and activate it on the new one. There's no extra charge for doing this.
Activation works offline, because recovery is often performed from a bootable environment or from a different machine than the one you bought from. Your licence is a signed file carrying its own expiry date, and the program checks it locally — nothing has to call home on a schedule, so a machine with no network keeps working normally.
Nothing is charged and nothing switches off without warning. Your licence simply runs for twelve months from the day you buy it. After that the program reverts to the free-to-try mode, where you can still scan and preview as much as you like. If you want another year, you buy another year — there is no automatic renewal and no card kept on file.
